Common garter snake
Dr. Thomas Wilson from UTC's Biology Department will lead a presentation on snakes for the 4-H Companion Animal Project Group.

Learn how to distinguish venomous from non-venomous snakes, what to do if you find a snake in your yard, and get advice on snakes as pets.

This is the first in a series of monthly presentations on animals, as part of the 4-H Companion Animal Project Group, which meets at the Extension Office for Hamilton County and is open to all Hamilton County students in grades 4-12 who are enrolled in 4-H (you can join 4-H at the door; there is no charge to join 4-H or to attend the animal programs).

Parents/guardians are welcome to attend with their children.

The 4-H Companion Animal Project Group will meet monthly this summer to learn about animals, including snakes, rabbits, cats, and dogs.
