Learn to Ride a Bicycle

Free classes are offered the 2nd Monday of each month.
Time: 4 or 6 p.m.
Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park
(classes held indoors during inclement weather)
Cost: Free, bikes and helmets can be provided upon request.
Recommended for adults and kids ages 6 and older.

Classes consist of a set of exercises and safety drills that are designed to help beginner riders of all ages progress at their own speed and ability.
Outdoor Chattanooga's League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructors will teach:
-Helmet fit and safety checks
-Bicycle fit and seat position
-Parts of the bicycle and basic maintenance
-Bicycle fit and seating position
-How gears and brakes work
-Balance, starting, stopping and pedaling
-Types of bicycles
-Rules for sidewalk, greenway and neighborhood road riding
-Roadway signage and hand signaling
