Egyptian Paste Workshop with Loren Howard

*Note dates are not consecutive but 2 weeks apart to allow for firing of pieces after first workshop date.
This 2-day intensive workshop will dig deep into Egyptian Paste, an ancient technique used in Egyptian jewelry. Explore the ancient worlds early glass technology with a hands on approach. Workshop will cover methods for producing this material including materials properties, color development and firing techniques including construction of a bead tree.
Day 1 participants will build their base pieces and bead trees. Work will dry and bead trees will be bisque fired by SCCA prior to the second workshop.
Workshop includes: 10-hours of instruction (over 2 Sundays), clay, glazes, kiln firing, and all materials needed to create Egyptian Paste ceramics.
*Participants should bring their own small, seal able, plastic container
**Coffee/Tea/Water are available in the studio. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch and will have a 30-minute lunch break.
