Join REI and the Southeastern Cave Conservancy at The Tap house for a presentation on Wild Cave Conservation! Executive Director, Ray Knott, will provide a brief explanation of the geology of the Southeast and how that has made the area around Chattanooga a destination for cavers from around the country. In addition, we will learn the importance of caves from an ecological, historic and recreational perspective and why wild cave conservation is important. Lastly, we will cover Leave No Trace Caving principles and provide resources for gaining skills and experience in wild cave exploration. *** Join ius early to grab a beer before the presentation begins!
