All levels are welcome!
"It is simplicity and poetry that makes things more real, it is the poetry that makes a painting so profound. The abstraction of form is what gives it order, it is what makes the viewer think." William F. Reese
Back by popular demand! This two-day class will cover the fundamentals of landscape painting in oils. The class will cover the concepts of color, color mixing, value, and design. Students will be taught how to focus on learning to see in terms of mass and form rather than detail and line. From these fundamentals, students will proceed to work on their own studio landscape paintings. Photographs will be available for reference material or students may bring their own. Perfect as a continuation for those who have taken Ann's previous classes and beginners are welcome as well! Please bring a lunch with you as there will be a brief lunch break each day.

About the instructor:
Through her grandmother's influence, Ann has been interested in art from a young age and began painting in 2006 taking a watercolor class. Since her initial class, Ann has been fortunate to study with several notable artists.
While studying under different artists has provided guidance, it is Ann's travels in the United States and Europe that have helped develop her more fully as an artist in search of inspiration.
Currently, Ann's preferred medium is oil and she always enjoys experimenting with color. As her work evolves she continues to explore different subject matter while maintaining the perspective that invites viewers into her mind's eye. Ann is a member of Women Painter's of the Southeast, Oil Painter's of America, American Impressionist Society, and American Women Artists.
She is represented in numerous collections and galleries including: Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, Booth Museum Guild Show, Women Painter's of the Southeast, Stonehenge Gallery, Montgomery Alabama; Art and Soul, Lookout Mountain, TN; Plum Nelly Shop, Chattanooga, TN; Butternut Studio, Atlanta, GA; and Downtown Gallery, Cartersville, GA.
