This summer, the Museum will host three Folk and Traditional Arts Events! Through music, dance, art and food, children and their families will experience different cultures presented by local and regional talent. The Museum will highlight performance and recreational artforms practiced in the southeast.

Explore the strong roots Tennessee has in our nation's music and dance history! The Museum will host two music and dance performances that highlight performance and recreational art forms practiced in the Southeast. NEA Heritage Fellow and award winning buck dancer Thomas Maupin will perform the flat foot style dance. Maupin will be accompanied on banjo by his grandson Daniel Rothwell. The Double Cross Bluegrass Band will also give two performances in the Museum atrium.
