Jessica Johnson, Hart Gallery deaf artist, will be teaching how to make a mixed media artwork using images of ears and collage materials. This workshop, called "No Ears Necessary," will be instructed in American Sign Language. The works created will be featured in a free exhibition honoring those referred through Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults Deaf Services.

Jessica Johnson is a self-taught artist. She has been deaf since birth and communicates through American Sign Language. She has had a love of art for as long as she can remember and has found her voice through creating. She wants to learn more and share her passion with others through example and teaching. She hopes her work makes others happy and speaks to them as it does to her.

Deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing services through Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults has been empowering the Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing communities of Chattanooga and North Georgia since 1974. Their comprehensive programs seek to break the cycle of inequality and better the lives of individuals by bridging communication barriers, making connections, and educating the public.
